Normally closed at standby. Upon receiving opening signal from thermostat, the valve energizes and opens to circulate chilled/hot water through fan coils for indoor cooling/heating. When room temperature hits setpoint, power supply cuts off; return spring closes the valve to shut off water flow, stabilizing indoor temperature within target range.
